Comment: Sometimes you just know, before you start reading a book, that it won't disappoint you. This is one of those books. "Into the Wild" is one of the most unusual and powerful books I ever read. Chris McCandless seemed like you ordinary graduate, but wanted to do more with his life. You think it's just another story about a guy going on an adventurous trip, it's so much more. Jon Krakauer tells the story of Chris McCandless very skillfully in mesmerizing prose. The themes are grand, but Krakauer handles them with a lot of subtlety. Too many people say the life and death of Chris McCandless was meaningless, but after reading this beautiful book you care about Chris. We exclude him in our hearts.
